UAG 2025 NEW YEARS HEALTH TIPS!
Great job making it to 2025! Here are some ways the team at UAG has provided to make sure we can all make it to 2026!

Happy 2025 family!

It wasn’t just luck that helped us make it to the next year. There is many steps we took to get here. However, we tend to overlook many other things in our life. One of which tends to be our own health. Today, I will be sharing a few health tips that we should prioritize to make it to next year!

HEALTH HABITS TO BRING INTO 2025!

1. Prioritize Balanced Nutrition

Our nutrition should be the one thing that we always take into account when we talk about health. It's easy to say “Eat healthier” or “Eat whole foods and less processed foods” but a lot of this stuff is hard to stay away from with certain people. It is more realistic for you to minimize the amount of unhealthy and processed food consumed every week. It's okay to eat out once in a while but try not to fall into the habit of consuming a lot of junk food every day.

Another realistic goal is to drink a lot of water. A good rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces. This is a gateway towards a healthier lifestyle as it removes you from drinking straight sugar that is in most of these sodas and juices nowadays. Pair this up with whole foods and this alone sets you up for a healthy 2025!

2. Make Movement a Habit

Moving the body is also something that can get overlooked at times. It's important to make sure you and the body are always awake. 2025 is the perfect year to get a little more active as many tend to start healthy trends involving movement at the beginning of the year. It is a good way to build community. 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week is all the time you need to make for yourself. Have a good mix of cardio, strength, flexibility, and overall balance in your exercises.

3. Sleep Well

Quality sleep is essential for physical and mental health. 7-9 hours of sleep is always recommended and sleep should be prioritized. This can be done by managing your screen time at night. If you are doing something that needs to be done late then it's a good idea to lower the brightness and use any filters your phone can provide specifically for nighttime use. Most importantly, sleep at a consistent time since this can help you structure your entire day way better.

4. Manage Stress

Incorporate relaxation techniques into your 2025 like meditation, deep breathing exercises, or journaling to manage stress and enhance your mental clarity. Another way to manage your stress is to learn to say no when necessary to avoid overwhelming yourself. Balance work and personal life to protect your mental well-being. Just remember to make time for yourself and to engage in meaningful conversations with family and friends to support your emotional health. Social connections are important for reducing stress and improving happiness.

5. Practice Preventive Health

Keep up with annual physical exams, dental visits, and other preventive screenings to catch potential health issues early. Ensure you're currently on vaccinations and checkups to protect your health. And of course, pay attention to your body. If you notice changes in your health, don't ignore them—address any symptoms early to prevent bigger problems.

6. Support Your Immune System

Supporting your immune system is not too hard of a health goal in this list. Especially if you're following the nutrition step. We should Include foods rich in vitamin C (citrus, bell peppers, broccoli), zinc (nuts, seeds, beans), and antioxidants (berries, leafy greens) in our diet to keep the immune system strong. Another way is to practice basic hygiene. Things like washing your hands regularly, getting enough sleep, and staying active can help your body fight off infections.

7. Reduce Toxins

It's important to try to remove the things that slowly kill us daily. While many don’t want to hear it, reducing or completely getting rid of cigarettes and smoking, in general, is something that can greatly improve your health. Along with limiting alcohol, moderation is key. Aim for no more than one drink per day for women and two drinks per day for men. A more simple way of reducing toxins is to reduce environmental toxins: Consider switching to non-toxic cleaning supplies, organic foods, and products with fewer artificial chemicals.
