Fatherhood Support Services

At United And Guided, we believe that strong fathers build strong families and stronger communities.  Our Fatherhood Support Services are designed to uplift, empower, and engage fathers—especially Black and Brown men—in traditionally underserved communities. Through trauma-informed care, peer mentorship, and culturally responsive education, we help fathers reclaim their role as nurturers, protectors, and providers in their families and communities.

Our services are holistic and rooted in equity. We address the unique challenges that fathers face, including systemic barriers, housing instability, legal involvement, mental health struggles, unemployment, and lack of representation in prenatal and parenting spaces. United And Guided provides weekly support circles, one-on-one coaching, workforce development opportunities, and parenting classes—all led by men with lived experience.

A core part of our work is Co-Ed Doula Services, where we engage fathers from pregnancy through postpartum, ensuring they are educated, included, and supported throughout the birth journey. We also partner with local schools, CalWORKs, Family Court, and Managed Care Plans to ensure fathers can access housing, employment, and health services—including Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and Community Supports under Medi-Cal.

We are building a movement that redefines fatherhood—not as a secondary role, but as a vital one. Whether it’s through our Black Fathers Inc. program, Self-Care Sundays, or Real Pop Talk events, we celebrate fathers as healers, leaders, and changemakers.

United And Guided is proud to stand at the forefront of fatherhood advocacy in Sacramento County. We invite partners, funders, and fathers to join us in this mission to restore dignity, equity, and opportunity for every dad who dares to do better—for himself, his children, and his community.

Black Fatherhood and Birth Equity: The True Cost of Raising a Child in Sacramento

Uplifting Black Father Photo

✨ A Case Study in New Beginnings

In Sacramento County, a young Black couple is preparing to welcome their first child.  Both are under 30, college-educated, and deeply committed to starting their family together. Their story is filled with joy — but also anxiety.

Like many Black families, they face two barriers at once: the high cost of raising a child and the unequal health outcomes for Black mothers. Their journey illustrates why birth equity must include fathers, finances, and community support.
